Italian Serie A giants Lazio have officially joined the race to sign Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi from Viktoria Plzeň. The 22 year old forward, a product of Unique Football Academy, has already attracted attention from Premier League clubs Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Scouts from both English clubs reportedly watched Durosinmi in action during Viktoria Plzeň’s recent Europa League clashes against Lazio. Despite Plzeň suffering a 2-1 home defeat, Durosinmi scored their only goal and later provided an assist in the 1-1 return-leg draw at the Stadio Olimpico.

After recovering from a knee injury that kept him out for the first part of the season, Durosinmi has been in excellent form, netting five goals and supplying two assists in 12 appearances. His resurgence has caught the attention of several top European clubs, including Lazio, who are now preparing a move.

Reports from Radiosei reveal that Lazio’s sporting director, Angelo Mariano Fabiani, has already made contact with Durosinmi’s representatives. The Italian club is considering a formal bid for the striker, currently valued at €4 million.
